| Description
|
The Specialist is responsible for assisting regional school personnel in establishing or stregthening effective secondary English Language Arts programs. Duties include provision of research-based, data-driven professional development and technical assistance utilizing technology, manipulatives and varied instructional strategies in order to facilitate improvement of student performance in the area of literacy. |

| Qualifications
|
Master's Degree; Five years experience teaching secondary English Language Arts. Knowledge and skills required include ability to plan and lead workshops and/or special projects; effective problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively; knowledge of current laws, rules and regulations; ability to interpret and implement current policies and procedures; effective interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. |
